Rowan's Elephant

A friend of mine has been trying for a a few years to get pregnant. She finally did and asked me to paint something for a baby shower invitation. I painted this last Sunday evening. She lost the baby on Monday. Rowan was 12 weeks old. His little fingers and toes were perfectly formed. His eyes and ears and mouth were all there, though he was less than 5 inches long. Amazing.

We buried Rowan on Friday over his great-grandmother's grave.
