Thank you. I noticed you do some painting as well. You're more than welcome to join our little speed painting group here. Painting with other people helps prevent burnout :) You can find details in the journal.

It wasn't meant to be so heavy, or really even heavy at all. I was trying to push the ridiculous. I mean, peg arms? The previous comment just struck me in an odd way.

Along those lines though, I do want to push for more feeling in my work.

He looks too dejected to be ridiculous in a funny way I guess. Peg arms are just a bit ridiculous, though. :)

Yeah, I suppose so. I didn't have a very clear vision when I started it.

That sucks. What happened to him? A shark, a cannon, or did his parrot attack?

Poor guy, reminds me of the pirate from 'Family Guy'. Nice shading on the wood.

Really? Are you going to be the one to pull the trigger? You think murder is the way to help the less fortunate? "Come on everyone, let's get this refuse off the streets so we don't have to be bothered by it. Don't look at the homeless man, honey; it just encourages them." You turned this into something it wasn't meant to be. But now look at it. It's apathy like yours that allows these kind of things and worse to happen to real people.

Casual comments like that are the seeds that breed things like Nazism and allow this kind of thing to continue.

Ok. I'll step down from this soapbox.

I feel I need to clarify my last comment. After thinking about this more I realize it's not this kind of thinking that breeds Nazism. It just allows it. This casual disregard for human life turns a blind eye to the likes of Auschwitz, Mao, Pol Pot, or South Africa. It's the same attitude that says, "At least it's not happening here." The problem is so bad though that a great deal of this kind of injustice happens right under our noses and we still pretend it's not there. We pretend like its ok that we kill millions of children every year. We turn our backs on the fact that the world's poorest nations spend more to repay debt to other countries, corporations, and individuals than they do on their own people for things like food or healthcare. People in these places are starving to death and we just sit while the suits rake in massive profits. It is disgusting and it is an outrage. I know this amounts to screaming into my pillow, but it needs to be said anyway. It is time to wake up and start looking outside our own little comfortable lives.
